This project is an elementary school on a pier next to Battery Park in Manhattan. The circulation was cut out of the core of the building and pushed to the exterior in the form of cantilevered ramps. Every classroom is given a private outdoor space by carving out balconies from the core of the building. The public spaces, such as the gymnasium and auditorium are close to the front doors, giving the public access to these spaces for after school events.
